August 4-7, 2023 Dunellon, FL.

So we are headed to University of Florida for an official tour. We made fun of my daughter when she told us she wanted to visit colleges…nothing dissuaded her so we got on a tour, booked a trip to nearby Dunnellon, and set up to get my other son for the weekend from his dad. Whew 😅. A lot of planning and I originally forgot to book the tour. It ended up being full and I was put on a waitlist by the time I looked, like 2 days later 😱. I was pissed!!
Luckily we got into the 10AM tour and I surprised my dork of a daughter. (She gets her dorky brain from me I have 1 BA, 1 Certificate, and 2 Masters Degrees and I would’ve gotten my doctorate if I hadn’t gotten pregnant at 21, with Multiple Sclerosis. But I’m still thinking about going back for it because I got into the ABA MA program at a school that also offers a PsyD in Clinical Psychology.

So kayaking was fun but so hard because we had to kayak against the current at the beginning so that we didn’t need to work so hard towards the end when we were so tired.

We rented from Happy Campers… $160 Single Kayak $35 x 2 Movie 🎥 Screen $20 night x 2 Firewood $5 Paddle Boat $45 They downloaded any movies we wanted, including new release bootlegs! We watched a bad copy of Boogeyman but we watched the whole thing and want to see it more now……. the 2nd night with it we watched the 2003 classic, Holes.
On Saturday, we went tubing, early at rainbow springs. That was an amazing experience but insanely expensive! You pay the same price if you bring a tube or not. It was so expensive and there are free entrances. Rainbow Springs Tubing – per person $$26.50 + tax ($2.00 veteran discount) They provide a tube and take care of transportation, if needed, but it wasn’t. It wasn’t too hot 🥵 or sunny ☀️ but we got there at 8AM…the line of cars was huge when we left at 2:00PM. we are not mornings people but it was a great thing. None of us got burned and I didn’t overheat at all!!! We all were pleasantly surprised by how nice the weather was considering the heat wave we have been having across the country. It was sunny but the clouds moved enough to make the weather great!!

Now I am on the beginning of the UF tour…writing this and listening halfway to the guy talking but my husband daughter and son are here…I assume at least the kids are because they both want to go here.
