I listen to the lyrics of songs and sometimes they have a profound impact on my life.

My husband does not like pop music and I have fallen in love with Anti-Hero by Taylor Swift. My husband never understood why I liked it.

He doesn’t listen to lyrics though, so this morning I had him read:

It’s me, hi, I’m the problem, it’s me
At tea time, everybody agrees
I’ll stare directly at the sun but never in the mirror
It must be exhausting always rooting for the anti-hero

His face changed as he read it from small smile to not smiling at all. He told me that he finally understood it. I explained to him how this song really hit home during the past three months.

He said to me “I understand now.”
